He supports you doing what you want to post your cat pictures or what you want. But most people want something more. He can help you with Google.

WordPress does 80-90% of the SEO for you.
Cookies for Comments plugin is heavily suggested.
Wordpress super cache is also an awesome one to use.

PageRank is a nice complex math
Problem. But it boils down to the number and importance of links pointing to you.

Basic idea is that your page rank gets shared with your links

Avoid Backlink Obsession
You want them to be relevant AND reputable.
No matter how reputable you are but it also matters on how others write about you.

Being Relevant
Write often and stay on topic.

SEO tips keywords
Think what the average user will type
ALT attribute are handy (3-4 relevant words)
Don’t forget image and video search
Translate to regular English.

The basics should be easy to find.

Keyword Tool
Related words that rank high should be used in the article.

Custom Structure in permalinks are extremely important. Use a different title and URL with related keywords and increase your searchability.

When writing it can be important to NOT mention a keyword over and over. Once or twice is ok, but don’t overdo it.

Be Interesting
Humor is also good but add insight.

Update Often
Even Sergey Brin doesn’t post enough to get readers.

Apply Katanari Principle
Start small. Start in a niche you can do well. Don’t over reach.

• Provide a useful service
• Do original research or reporting
• Give Great Information
• Find a creative niche
• Write some code
• Live Blogging
• Make Lists
• Create contrversy

Make a video.

Google Analytics – See what articles draw people and less bounces.

Give Adsense help in providing the best ads.

Ignore the Google Scams.
